Anna Prior Photographs
What comes to our conscious attention first? A form, a shape, a blaze of colour, then texture…
Photographer Anna Prior explores the moment of perception. Using precise depth of field and meticulous colour rendition, she captures an impression of the microsecond we first become aware of a flower, and the progression of focus as we explore the details which comprise it and the qualities which make each leaf and blossom worthy of attention. Dialogue or relationship between pairs of flowers is implied by their gestural forms. Unconventional and diverse beauty is revealed in details usually hidden or overlooked.
Ann Prior is a master printer and a photographer of great subtlety.
