Fourteen Thousand Dollar Glowsticks looks at themes of poverty, austerity, displacement and distraction.
Through an obscured lens, the work invites the audience to gaze through the corruption and violence of
the state towards the true cost of “progress.” Framing images shot during the G20 demonstrations in
Toronto, against what is left of Regent Park, the show seeks to investigate the parallels between
excessive spending, and the reshaping of communities.
